According to the Independent Commissioner for Child Sexual Abuse Issues (UBSKM), it can be assumed that there are one or two pupils in every class who have been affected by sexual abuse. In addition to these enormous numbers, a wide variety of forms of sexualized violence can be found in the school context, such as assaults by other pupils or by teachers. The forms of sexualized violence that occur via social media are a particular challenge. This means that schools have an important role to play in prevention and support. Dealing with cases of sexualized violence can be a critical field of action for supervisors, school management, crisis teams, school social workers and teachers.
It is therefore of great importance to strengthen the confidence of those involved in the school context and to promote good cooperation. Schools should be a safe space that is free from sexualized violence. Schools should also be a place of competence where those affected are offered help. As part of the symposium, practical workshops will follow the presentations by Education Minister Dr. Stefanie Hubig and the Federal Commissioner for Abuse Prevention and Control (UBSKM) Kerstin Claus.
klicksafe is represented at the event and offers the workshop "From sexually harassing communication to cybergrooming: Protecting and strengthening children and young people against sexualized violence online".
The event will take place in person. The plenary contributions will be broadcast online and some will be recorded. The face-to-face workshops will not be broadcast. Separate workshops will be offered for participants in the online format. If the face-to-face places are fully booked, we will contact you and offer you an online place if possible
