Pornography, cybergrooming, sexting: differentiation, legal situation and consequences for child and youth work

The expansion of important areas of experience for children and young people into the digital sphere means that they can also be confronted with sexual boundary violations online. This mainly takes place in digital services such as social media, instant messaging and online games. The forms of sexual violence and harassment are diverse and the legal situation is sometimes highly complex.

In the online workshop with the speakers Cornelia Schüller, Merle Bieler and Sarah Herrmann from the BzKJ, specialist knowledge is imparted in a practical way. The focus is on the phenomena of "pornography", "cybergrooming" and "sexting" as well as answering the following questions: What is meant by each of these? What are the current challenges? Where does criminal activity begin? Can children and young people become perpetrators themselves? What is the legal situation, taking into account current developments in the law? What options are there to protect children and young people - while at the same time safeguarding empowerment and participation? What requirements must be met by the providers of digital services in accordance with the legislation? What forms of support and assistance are already available?

The workshop will begin with an introductory presentation in which these questions will be addressed. Participants will then be invited to work with the speakers to develop recommendations for action in the context of child and youth work. There will also be space for questions and discussions.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible via this link.
