Mom, can I use your cell phone? - Accompanying media use in early childhood

Web seminar (Online)

Friday, 29th of August 2025
10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Target group(s)

Educational professionals

Children are coming into contact with digital media at an increasingly early age - be it via their parents' smartphone, online videos or their first apps on a tablet. This raises questions for many families: What is age-appropriate? How much is too much? And how can they make a safe, healthy start in the digital world?

In this online event, klicksafe offers practical tips on media education for parents with children aged three to ten. Educational professionals - for example from daycare centers or advice centers - will receive helpful suggestions and concrete tips on how they can support families in media education and design media education programs. Among other things, the focus will be on the safe use of devices and apps, the selection of age-appropriate online offers and specific recommendations for media education.

Participating in the event:
Deborah Woldemichael, a qualified educationalist, is head of the EU initiative klicksafe and coordinator of the German Safer Internet Center, which is embedded in the European Commission's "Better Internet for Kids" strategy. She is also head of the media literacy team at the Rhineland-Palatinate Media Authority.

Further information and the registration form can be found under this link. No fees will be charged for participation in the specialist event.
