Children and young people can be affected by various forms of sexual violence, increasingly also on the internet. How to protect adolescents is a major challenge, especially for parents, guardians and educational professionals. To mark the European Day for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse, klicksafe and the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office are offering a webinar on this topic on November 18, 2024.
Carina Kneip, LKA prevention expert, will deal with various forms of sexual violence, including the loverboy method and forced prostitution, sextortion and cybergrooming, in the main lecture. She will explain to participants how perpetrators proceed when they come into contact with children and young people and how sexual exploitation then occurs. She also gives recommendations on how to behave and introduces police advice and support services .
klicksafe then provides important tips on how media literacy and good media education can help children and young people to recognize sexual violence in good time and protect themselves. Participants will also receive an overview of suitable information materials, educational materials and other offers of help and advice.
At the end of the event, there will be an opportunity to ask any questions and discuss the issues together.
