Fakes generated by artificial intelligence or blatant untruths: Where are the legal boundaries for populist or extremist online content? What do children and young people come into contact with and how can they be supported in dealing with such content? The organizations of the German Safer Internet Centre will shed light on these and other questions at a webinar on18 Februaryto mark Safer Internet Day 2025. In addition to the klicksafe Awareness Centre, these include the complaints offices of eco, FSM and jugendschutz.net as well as the counselling services of Nummer gegen Kummer e.V.

The event is aimed at educational professionals, multipliers, parents and anyone else interested in learning more about how to deal with populist and extremist (deep) fakes on the internet . Experts from the partner organizations will provide information on the challenges and options for dealing with such online content.

You will receive a general legal overview of the topic of false information and hate speech, learn about current trends and tendencies in the area of content harmful to young people and gain insights into the options for action offered by counseling services and media education services. During the event, there will also be the opportunity to ask questions in the chat.
