Anti-democratic sentiments, hate speech, sexual harassment: Children and young people are exposed to numerous dangers on social networks. Parents are often overwhelmed - or have no means of dealing with them in the first place. PZ discusses these issues with experts. The topic of "Youth protection in social media and online games - a task for families and politicians" will be the subject of a panel discussion as part of the "Smart Kids" series of events organized by the "Pforzheimer Zeitung", which is funded by the Jakob-und-Rosa-Esslinger-Stiftung and supported by Smart City Pforzheim.
Also taking part: Baden-Württemberg's State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Sandra Boser, police superintendent Carolin Kuhn, KerstinHeilmann, head of the Lilith advice center and social education worker and media expert ClemensBeisel. Maulbronn influencer Elena Schlegel is also on the panel. The 20-year-old is active on various social media channels under @kindofelena and has around 850,000 followers on TikTok. Martin Bregenzer, media literacy officer, will be there for klicksafe.
Of course, parents, grandparents, teachers and social workers will also have their say and ask their questions. These can also be sent in advance by email to baerbel.schierling@pz-news.de .
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required by calling the Ticket Line on (07231) 933 125 (Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pm). Further information can be found on the website www.pz-news.de.
