Digital parents' evening: Right-wing extremist online strategies between trend and camouflage

Children and young people spend a lot of time online and on social media. They are finding out more and more about political issues there. However, this is not always easy, because with the flood of false information, they have to be able to evaluate information correctly in order to form an informed opinion. This false information often contains right-wing extremist content. Right-wing extremists act as influencers, spread far-right emojis, memes and codes and use gaming platforms to convince young people of their far-right world view.

The lecture provides information on current online strategies in right-wing extremism and raises awareness of the challenges posed by populist and right-wing extremist (deep) fakes on the internet and gives tips on how parents can empower their children against right-wing extremist content on social media and the internet.
