In cybergrooming, people make targeted contact with minors on the internet in order to prepare for sexual abuse. Once contact has been established, they demand explicit images, urge them to perform sexual acts in front of the camera or want to initiate a real-life meeting. Cybergrooming is a form of sexual violence that affects many children and young people today.
A recent report by STRG_F shows how quickly children come into contact with cybergrooming in livestreams on the short video platform Likee. klicksafe accompanied a "fake child experiment" in which two adult journalists streamed live into the Likee app over three evenings as minors for the report. You can find out more in our news item "Livestream from the children's room" and also find the link to the STRG_F report.
In the klicksafe web seminar "Cybergrooming in livestreams - recognizing perpetrator strategies"on2 July from 7.00 to 8.30 p.m., we will give parents and educational professionals a closer look at the strategies of cybergrooming in livestreams as well as help on how children and young people can recognize cybergrooming and protect themselves from sexual violence on the Internet.
Unfortunately, the event is fully booked and no further registrations can be accepted. All participants who have received a registration confirmation will be sent the access link on July 1. Important note
In the web seminar, you will gain an insight into the observations that klicksafe was able to make during the filming of the STRG_F report. Excerpts from the report will also be shown, which show the beginnings of sexual abuse as well as (albeit pixelated) sexual abuse, including masturbation by alleged perpetrators in front of the camera. Please make sure that there are no children around you during the online event.
