(Cyber) Bullying – Recognize – Take Action – Protect

Cyberbullying manifests itself in class chats, social media, and messaging groups. It is not an isolated cyberattack, but rather has a systemic impact: it alters the framework of values and norms within a school class and spreads to the school culture.

Based on a thorough assessment of group dynamics, the following questions arise: How can victims be effectively protected? How can it be prevented? How can it be detected early, before these dynamics become structurally entrenched?

• Cyberbullying has a high potential for harm and significantly impairs educational processes. It is often detected late because it is hidden from view by generational divides and the “wall of silence.”
• Cyberbullying thus poses a challenge to democratic coexistence: Where the law of the strongest prevails, central pillars such as tolerance and solidarity erode. Trust in a just society is lost, and hatred, discrimination, and—particularly potent in the digital space—defamation become seemingly legitimate means of self-assertion.

This webinar introduces the “ ” concept from symplex, which is grounded in democratic education: a systemically based approach combining diagnostics, clear action strategies, and cohesive team structures. The goal is to identify cyberbullying early on, effectively protect victims, and professionally address escalating dynamics—while simultaneously using these situations as learning opportunities for personal development and democratic coexistence.
