Digital media are now a natural part of everyday family life. Many children come into regular contact with smartphones, tablets, or televisions as early as their first few years of life. Professionals observe that in many families, digital media are used to soothe children, keep them occupied, as a parenting tool, or to capture special moments. At the same time, there is uncertainty about the significance of early media experiences for children’s development and how parents can be effectively supported in navigating this sensitive topic.

This joint webinar with experts from klicksafe and Blickwechsel e.V. provides foundational knowledge about early media experiences and their significance for children’s development, as well as offering professionally grounded guidance for educational practice. The focus is on how professionals can initiate conversations with parents about media use in the family and the challenges involved, and how they can support parents in finding suitable alternatives and reflecting on their own role as role models. To this end, the new resource package for the under-3 age group from klicksafe and Blickwechsel will be presented.

The online event is aimed at all early childhood educators working with children under three. Participation is free of charge.
