TikTok has become an integral part of many cell phones. It is the favorite social media app of young people in particular. TikTok works differently to Facebook or Instagram in many respects and is changing rapidly. Nowadays, you can not only find funny dance videos, make-up tips or bizarre experiments here, but also videos from war zones, conspiracy entrepreneurs promote their wild theories on TikTok and extremists try to lure young people via the platform and radicalize them in line with their ideologies.
Why is TikTok so much fun? How does the algorithm work? What dangers lurk on the social media platform? How do you deal with disinformation and how do you recognize it? Why do young people radicalize themselves via the platform?
Pupils can ask Roland Hindl these and many more questions in the webtalk. As Social Media Team Lead, he is responsible for social media at BR24 - and therefore also for the BR24 news channel on TikTok. What topics are appearing on the platform and how? What are the trends? How does the community react? This is his daily business.
Target group: all school types from year 7 onwards
