Experts / specialist audience
Child and youth welfare professionals in Saxony-Anhalt

Social networks such as TikTok and Instagram can not only act as a space for communication, entertainment and self-expression for young people, but also increasingly contribute to the formation of (political) opinions. Fake news poses a danger in this context because it is sometimes difficult for adolescents to recognize. Conveyed emotions, a distorted representation of reality and the reduction of complex contexts to simple answers can unsettle young people in their still unestablished world view or even have a lasting influence.
The event therefore aims to give participants an overview of the manifestations of fake news and shed light on the role of social networks. In addition, the professionals will receive methodological suggestions for thematic work with adolescents and the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other.
