This year's motto of the EU-wide Safer Internet Day is: "No likes for lies! Recognize extremism, populism and deepfakes online".

We fully share and support this approach. In view of the flood of disinformation and hateful online content on social networks, our ability to judge and our democratic values are called for. Young people in particular need skills to critically classify social media content.

On scout-magazin.de, we have put together a new special with articles on this key topic for you. You can read articles on the following topics:

- Fake news
- AI and deepfakes
- Right-wing recruitment in gaming
- Protection against extremism and populism
- Democratic competence

With the help of this collection of topics, we would like to give you guidance and tips on how you can teach children and young people about this topic.
