On Safer Internet Day 2025, the Saarland State Media Authority and the Saarland Chamber of Labor invite all interested parties to attend three presentations at the LMS in Saarbrücken to find out about current aspects of security on the internet and in digital media.
The lecture "Identity abuse, phishing, job scamming & Co.: How not to fall for it" by the Saarland Consumer Center provides an overview of current scams on the Internet and explains how to protect yourself against them. Crime on the Internet has been on the increase for many years. The scams used by criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. More and more consumers are being confronted with dubious e-mails, dubious job offers or even unauthorized claims because their identity has been misused. This has long since ceased to be an issue for a group of consumers who may not know their way around. The scams are now so well done that anyone can fall for them. According to experts, it will become increasingly difficult to distinguish between legitimate and dubious offers in the coming years. What scams are there at the moment and how can you defend yourself if you have been taken in? What specific help is available to consumers from the consumer advice centers? In this presentation by the consumer advice center, you will receive tips from everyday advice and be informed about current pitfalls.
Before and after the presentation, you will have the opportunity to gain an insight into various AI applications in the AI themed world of the Saarland State Media Authority.
