On Safer Internet Day 2025, the Saarland State Media Authority and the Saarland Chamber of Labor invite all interested parties to attend three presentations at the LMS in Saarbrücken to find out about current aspects of security on the internet and in digital media.

The association BEST - Beratungsstelle für sozialverträgliche Technologiegestaltung e.V. will give an overview of the possibilities and limits of using digital systems and AI systems in the workplace in the lecture "Digitalization and the use of AI: Changing working conditions". Digital systems and systems with artificial intelligence already accompany many people through their everyday lives. We use navigation systems, follow purchase recommendations in the online retail sector and read news that is recommended to us based on articles we have previously clicked on. A look at the world of work shows: Here, too, the use of such technologies is increasing. In this context, work tasks must be understood as an interplay of three components: People, technology and work organization. If one of the components changes, the other two components change with it. For example, the use of robots in the production environment can reduce monotonous work and thus create more time for people to carry out more complex tasks. At the same time, the introduction of new technologies also creates challenges that need to be overcome as early as possible. The aim of the presentation is to give the audience an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of using digital systems and AI systems in the workplace. The focus is on understanding the AI system as a tool whose use can and must be decided by humans. Practical examples from different industries will open up a space for joint discussions afterwards.

Before the presentation, there will be an opportunity to gain an insight into various AI applications in the AI themed world of the Saarland State Media Authority.

Participation is free of charge and the presentations can also be attended individually.
