On Safer Internet Day 2025, the Saarland State Media Authority and the Saarland Chamber of Labor invite all interested parties to attend three presentations at the LMS in Saarbrücken to find out about current aspects of security on the internet and in digital media.

The lecture "Cybercrime: Crimes in and against the Internet" by the Cybercrime Department of the Saarland State Police Headquarters will provide an overview of the topic of cybercrime, the IT security situation in Germany and information on common scams.
Hacked computers, fake websites, spied data - the Internet offers criminals countless opportunities for illegal activities. Millions of phishing emails are sent out every day and associated phishing sites are created. Databases are hacked, the captured data is sold and then used for blackmail or fraud. In recent decades, the digital underground has increasingly taken advantage of digitalization, anonymization, globalization and cryptography.
The lecture provides exciting insights into the perfidious machinations of the underground economy and police cybercrime investigations and raises awareness of the dangers we face every day when surfing the Internet.

Before and after the lecture, there will be an opportunity to gain an insight into various AI applications in the AI themed world of the Saarland State Media Authority.

Participation is free of charge, the lectures can also be attended individually.
