How do I recognize fake news, deepfakes or populist and extremist narratives online?
What tips and help are there for dealing with (deep) fakes, hate speech, populism and extremism online?
What to do in cases of digital border crossings?
Our Digital Heroes student mentors have been working intensively on these questions over the past few weeks and are planning several activities (class visits, digital breaks, parents' evening) in the period between February 11 and the summer vacations to promote the Germany-wide annual motto of #SID 25 "No likes for lies! - Recognize extremism, populism and deepfakes online".
Age-appropriate peer group activities will be used to address the topic in different year groups. Pupils will learn about methods of influence in social media, how subtle influence works and how to recognize deepfakes. The aim is to empower them to recognize dangers online for themselves and for our democracy.
Especially in times of increasing extremism and racism, we would like to pass on the message:
"We are open-minded and do not like anti-democratic or xenophobic lies!"
The starting point of the activities around the annual motto "No Likes for Lies" is the participation of Year 10 in the nationwide digital school lesson (Klicksafe/juuuport) on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 (10.00-11.30 a.m.) itself.
