Together with the Oberberg Media Initiative, Crime Prevention would like to give a large number of people in the OBK the opportunity to inform themselves about the dangers of their various activities, contacts etc. on the Internet in a barrier-free and low-threshold manner. They will then be able to distinguish between misinformation, disinformation and fact-based statements.
Young people can distinguish disinformation and deepfakes from fact-based messages in social networks. In open discussions and using examples, they learn how to check the truthfulness of online news. They check for themselves, recognize and protect themselves from falsehoods and thus create a mature basis for discussion and opinion-forming.
Young adults can control their own profile online and post/share in a self-determined way. Algorithms, filters and bubbles are recognized and circumvented if necessary.
Parents learn about different approaches and ways to prepare their children for using the internet and can keep themselves up to date online at all times. Parents are clearly informed about the confrontation of their children/young people with disinformation, deepfakes, extreme political views and conspiracy theories online.
Children learn and accept the boundaries that parents set for them and receive age-appropriate education for the areas they use on the internet.
