Whether it's bedbugs in Paris, the Pope in a trendy winter coat or an alleged kebab price brake - more and more fakes can be found online. Recognizing these at first glance is not only difficult for children and young people scrolling through the web every day. Even adults don't always find it easy to take a critical look at information on the Internet. Fake news is therefore an issue for the whole family.

After all, the deliberate creation and dissemination of fake news is much more than something that is simply wrong on the internet. Fake news or disinformation is intended to manipulate us. It is nothing less than a targeted attack on our peaceful and democratic coexistence.

But what exactly does fake news do to our opinions and our social coexistence? Who actually benefits from fake news and who puts it out into the world? And perhaps the most important question: how can you protect yourself and your family from being manipulated by disinformation? We would like to discuss this with you and cordially invite you to our online event on the eve of the nationwide Safer Internet Day 2025.

We will be talking to the #UseTheNews initiative about these and other issues relating to the promotion of democracy and discussing how to deal with disinformation. You are also in demand! We look forward to your questions, opinions and experiences.
