Digital games offer children and young people exciting and creative opportunities to immerse themselves in other worlds. They can use chats, direct messages or Discord to network, plan strategies or discuss their next move. However, these channels are also used by perpetrators to establish contact with minors and prepare for abuse (cybergrooming). In this online lecture, strategies used by perpetrators will be presented, legal aspects will be explained and specific options for action for parents, caregivers and educational professionals will be outlined.
