Lunch Lecture: Europe's dependence on the USA in the area of cyber security - stocktaking and options for action

As in many other areas, Europe is heavily dependent on the US in the area of cyber security, as well as in the technology sector in general. It is not only US companies that play an important role here, but also the government in Washington directly in many areas. At the same time, these dependencies are little known in Europe. Alexandra Paulus, researcher for cyber security policy and critical technologies at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), will give an overview of these dependencies and formulate recommendations for a forward-looking policy.
