Child protection in practice

Dear parents, dear professionals,

Screen media are increasingly shaping the everyday lives of families and educational institutions. Every parent wants their child to learn to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by new media worlds. However, more and more parents are also aware of the many digital dangers. ECHT DABEI wants to help parents of nursery and primary school children to ensure that their children grow up healthily in the digital age. Time limiting and filtering software play an important role in this.

On Safer Internet Day on February 10, 2026, the information event "Kinderschutz Konkret" will take place online from 10:00 to 12:00. This event is one of the modules of the prevention program ECHT DABEI (www.echt-dabei.de). Our speaker Dr. Gwendolyn Windpassinger will talk about media risks and protection options and will address the following questions:

- Why is child protection on devices such as routers, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches, etc. important?
- What risks and dangers are there on the internet?
- What is part of effective protection and where are the limits?
- What influence do we have as parents?
- Our child's own device? What does that mean?

We would like to invite you to join us. You will be better informed afterwards and know what is important and where you can get support. Two hours that are worthwhile!

The presentation of the ECHT DABEI program (10th anniversary in 2026) will take place beforehand at 9:30 am. If you are interested, you are welcome to join us earlier.
