Children and AI: When the chatbot becomes a conversation partner - fascination, risks and tips for parents on how to deal with it

For children and young people, chatbots are sometimes more than just practical helpers with homework. They listen, give advice, comfort and are always available. To mark Safer Internet Day 2026, the parents' guide FLIMMO shows what fascinates children about chatbots, but also what can be problematic about them and how parents can talk to their children about them.
