AI and me. Couch conversations - how AI creates closeness

AI is used by many children and young people not just as a tool, but as a counterpart. It listens, reassures, organizes thoughts and reacts with understanding. And it does so immediately and without judgment. This can provide emotional relief, especially in moments of frustration, stress or excessive demands.
But what exactly is so effective here? And what happens in the long term when reassurance is available at all times? On Safer Internet Day 2026, TeachToday (a Deutsche Telekom initiative to promote safe and competent media use) joins Dr. Zoe Olbermann (communication scientist and expert in persuasive and strategic communication) in a video talk to explain why digital closeness feels so good and where parents should pay attention.
