"White Hats for Future" - this is also the motto of the Hacking Challenge 2026, to which Augsburg University of Applied Sciences invites all students. The challenge starts on February 3, 2026 and the tasks can then be completed virtually for one week until February 10, 2026, Safer Internet Day. The award ceremony will take place on February 11, 2026 at 16:00.

Exciting tasks have to be solved within a week. Whether you are a beginner or already an expert - there is something for everyone. Whoever scores the most points wins. Participation is possible as an individual or as a team (e.g. school classes, working groups or friends).

The IT experts at the Institute for Innovative Security at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences have designed the Hacking Challenge 2026 to get pupils interested in IT security and raise their awareness of the current challenges of a digital world.

Students of all grades and school types, including technical colleges, vocational colleges, vocational schools, technical colleges and technical schools, can take part. School classes and student teams are also eligible. Prerequisites are a basic knowledge of computer science and, in particular, a love of solving tricky problems. Participation is free of charge and recommended from eighth grade onwards.

The Hacking Challenge for schoolchildren is organized by Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. THA_innos - the Institute for Innovative Security in cooperation with THA@School is in charge. The challenge is supported by other cooperation and transfer partners.
