You are what you see - How platforms influence us & how we can protect ourselves

To mark Safer Internet Day 2026, we cordially invite you to an online event with speaker Luise Görlach on February 10 from 6.30 to 8.00 pm.

Entitled "You are what you see", the event will take a critical look at the big players in the digital world and their influence on our everyday lives. The event will cover the basics of Big Tech business models, explain why these companies are so hungry for data and shed light on the consequences for us as "transparent users".

Manipulation techniques are presented in a comprehensible way using concrete examples such as target leaks, supplemented by an excursus on deepfakes.

There will also be practical tips on how simple steps can contribute to greater data economy - an important protection to reduce manipulation and be more self-determined online.
