Bullying and cyberbullying—bullying that occurs online or via digital devices—are issues of ongoing relevance, and the school setting plays a particularly important role in them.
The purpose of this guide is to support you, as a teacher, in dealing with bullying situations at your school. The focus is on informing you about the characteristic features of bullying and cyberbullying, raising your awareness of possible signs, and showing you appropriate approaches for handling bullying situations as well as helpful resources. You also have the opportunity to illustrate the dynamics of the bullying process and the individual roles in your class using a diagram.
Through four classroom projects for grades 5 through 8, students also learn how to recognize bullying early on, what dynamics bullying creates, and how the class community can work together to address it.
Note: The teaching materials are written in plain language and designed to be accessible, enabling all target groups to engage with the topic in an approachable way.

This teaching material also incorporates content from the klicksafe school lesson on September 17, 2026 (four videos and a poster). Participants in the klicksafe school lesson should therefore avoid using this content before the event, if possible, to prevent repetition for the students.
Please also note that on page 6, we stated that the interview with Mr. Rüdiger provides “legal” background on the topic of cyberbullying. In fact, however, this is a “criminological” analysis. We will revise the text accordingly in the next update.
