The EU initiative klicksafe is calling on people across Germany to take part in Safer Internet Day 2025 on February 11. Disinformation and hateful online content are flooding social networks. They challenge our judgment and our democratic values. What skills do young people in particular need to critically classify manipulative social media content? With the focus topic "No likes for lies! Recognize extremism, populism and deepfakes online", klicksafe is focusing on education and empowerment on Safer Internet Day 2025. The international day of action is coordinated by klicksafe in Germany.

The EU initiative klicksafe began its work in Germany on October 1, 2004. The initiative has thus been working for 20 years to promote greater Internet safety through media literacy. The focus is on protecting and empowering children and young people online, educating parents and educational professionals about online risks and training them with advice and teaching materials on how to use digital media confidently and critically.

klicksafe, together with ZDF and the Rhineland-Palatinate consumer advice center, receives the coveted EduMedia medal and seal at the prestigious Comenius EduMedia Awards. The award went to the "Young Crime" format with the episode "Abzocke im Netz" including the accompanying klicksafe teaching material. In the ZDFtivi format, fictionalized cases of youth crime are re-enacted and judged by a jury of young people.

Around 250 offers nationwide for more online safety on the occasion of the international day of action on February 6. The EU initiative klicksafe is putting the taboo topic of pornography in the spotlight at this year's Safer Internet Day (SID) on February 6, 2024: Together with numerous partners throughout Germany, extensive campaigns and offers for young people, parents and educational professionals on pornography and sexual education online will be presented under the motto "Let's talk about porn". A special hands-on activity organized by Safer Internet Verbund DE is a Q&A chat in which experts answer questions about online pornography, sexual education and sexual boundary violations.
