BIK+ StrategySurvey on a Better Internet for Children and Teens

With its Strategy for a Better Internet for Children (BIK+), the European Union set goals and measures in 2022 to strengthen the safety, digital participation, and voice of children and young people online. Now, an assessment is underway to determine how the strategy is working in practice and where it should be further developed. To this end, children and adolescents, parents and caregivers, as well as teachers and educators, can participate in an online survey through October 9 and share their experiences.

With the European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children (BIK+ Strategy) , the European Union is committed to creating a digital environment in which children and young people are protected, empowered, and respected online. Adopted on May 11, 2022, the strategy builds on two decades of EU measures aimed at promotingsafe and age-appropriate online experiences.

The BIK+ Strategy is evaluated every two years. The first evaluation in 2024 already provided valuable insights into progress and achievements, as well as areas in need of improvement. Now there is another opportunity to provide constructive feedback through an online survey and thus actively contribute. The second evaluation takes into account changes in children’s daily digital lives, new technologies, and developments in the European legal and policy landscape since the first evaluation.
