"Who is Herbert?"New klicksafe clips raise awareness of how we deal with AI companions

Whether it's about cooking recipes, an inheritance or your son's new girlfriend - our three new video clips show that AI is playing an increasingly important role in our lives. Following on from "Where's Klaus?", our successful commercial from the 2000s, the new, ironically staged clips are also intended to amuse and provide food for thought.
The new clips are part of the klicksafe campaign "KI and me. In artificial relationship" and were created in cooperation with the Federal Center for Child and Youth Media Protection (BzKJ). Our current campaign was launched on Safer Internet Day and raises public awareness of the risks of the unthinking use of AI chatbots. Young people in particular are increasingly using AI bots such as ChatGPT or companion apps such as Replika for very personal or intimate dialogs.
For klicksafe, one thing is clear: children and young people need guidance, a real community and protected spaces to develop well and fulfill their potential. Those who mainly interact with AI bots run the risk of developing an unrealistic image of friendship, love and relationships, as well as of themselves. The campaign "AI and me. In an artificial relationship." explains these connections. The video clips expand our teaching and advice material and are perfect for reflection and as conversation starters in private or school contexts.
The three new clips were created with the help of AI. They were produced by the media agency Neon Internet under the direction of Karim Youssef. Images and videos were generated using the AI platform LetzAI.
