TOMMI Children's Software AwardOutstanding games and apps honored

Many parents are currently looking for a suitable Christmas present for their child and games are already very popular with the youngest children. However, with the huge range of apps, console and PC games on offer, it is not easy to choose the really suitable games. This is where the annual TOMMI children's software award comes in. It recognizes outstanding games that have been tested and approved by both a panel of experts and a children's jury. We present the winners.

Over the past few weeks, 3,179 children and young people have shown just how much gaming expertise they have. Accompanied by trained library staff, they tested around 70 games and digital educational offers in over 40 libraries. With their critical eye, their gaming experience and their knowledge of gaming, they acted as a nationwide children's jury to decide which titles would receive a TOMMI this year.

The award ceremony took place in the KiKA program "Team Timster". If you missed the program, you can watch it can still watch it now on the KiKA website. Below we show the winners of the individual categories. All winners (including second and third places) and all jury statements can be viewed on the TOMMI website.

What is the TOMMI?

Every year since 2002, the German Children's Software Award TOMMI has honored high-quality digital games and educational programs for children and made them known to a wider audience. First, an expert jury selects the nominations. Then it is the turn of a children's jury in around 50 libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Children always have the last word on the TOMMI! Further information on the TOMMI can be found on the website tommi.kids.
