TOMMI 2026Games Award Seeks Children and Teens for Its Jury

This year marks the 25th edition of the TOMMI Games Award. A jury of children will decide which games will receive an award. Anyone interested between the ages of eight and sixteen can apply now to serve on the jury. In addition, publishers of games, apps, and digital learning resources have until August 24 to submit their products to TOMMI.

Since 2002, the TOMMI Award has been presented to outstanding games and educational software. First, a panel of experts selects the best titles from among the submissions. Then, a jury of children and young people in about 40 libraries across Germany decides on the winners. In this way, the TOMMI Award promotes media literacy among young people and highlights their perspectives on digital content. New partners this year are the Federal Agency for the Protection of Children and Youth in the Media (BzKJ) and klicksafe. The award is held under the patronage of Karin Prien, Federal Minister of Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth.

Call for Children’s and Youth Jury Members 2026

Starting now, children and teens between the ages of eight and sixteen can apply to join the Children’s Jury at participating libraries. To apply, they must fill out a questionnaire and submit it to one of the participating libraries. More information about the Children’s Jury and the application process is available on the TOMMI website.

Submit Games by August 24, 2026

Developers and publishers can submit games for PC and consoles, apps, electronic toys, digital educational resources, websites, and titles for daycare and preschool to the TOMMI Awards. The age rating must be USK 12. Submissions can be made until August 24, 2026, using this form.

This year, the awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. on the media show “Team Timster” on KiKA.
