Back to School Campaign 2025Fit in dealing with artificial intelligence and deepfakes
Every year, we support teachers, pupils and parents at the start of the school year with our "Back to School" campaign with new teaching materials and digital offers on current media literacy topics. This year's campaign focuses on the topic of "Safe use of AI and deepfakes".
Deepfakes are manipulated media content such as images, videos or sound files that are either altered or completely recreated with the help of AI. The technology has long since become part of our everyday lives, including in the classroom. With this nationwide campaign, we are raising awareness of the opportunities and risks of this new technology. The aim is to give pupils, parents and educational professionals guidance and strengthen their digital skills.
The JIM Study2024 shows that over three fifths of young people between the ages of 14 and 19 already use AI tools themselves, most frequently for school or homework. However, the results of AI are often not questioned or not questioned sufficiently.
Materials and offers from klicksafe
The new klicksafe resources for students in 7th grade and above offer numerous tips and information on how to use AI applications and deepfakes safely. These materials can help improve students’ media literacy.
klicksafe School Lesson: “Deep Fake. Deep Impact.”
On October 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., klicksafe invites you to a digital school lesson. In an interactive livestream format, students in 7th grade and above will explore the risks of deepfakes—such as voice clones, sexual violence, and hate speech—and practice identifying fake content. Engaging guests and experts will provide the students with professional tips and be available to answer their questions. Registered classes will receive a free resource package to implement the lesson in their classrooms. Registration is open now through September 26, 2025,here.
Teaching Materials on AI and Deepfakes
The new guide “Deep Fake. Deep Impact. How Young People Can Learn to Recognize Deepfakes and Critically Examine Their Consequences” offers educators and interested parties fundamental factual information and project ideas for educational practice, targeting students in 7th grade and above. The brochure is supplemented by the “Deepfake Detectives” quiz
Fact Sheet and Booklet on AI and Ethics
The “10 Commandments of AI Ethics” were developed in collaboration with the Institute for Digital Ethics at the Stuttgart Media University and the JUUUPORT counseling center. They provide young people with quick guidance and support them in using AI confidently and responsibly. The accompanying booklet delves deeper into the ethical principles and will be published in the fall.
