Back to School: klicksafe info campaign for the start of school
With the end of the summer vacations, math and German are now back on the timetable for all schoolchildren nationwide. And their use of smartphones, tablets and the like also takes place in school mode: This includes class chats on WhatsApp and the use of digital media in class as well as discussions about media usage times at home. And topics such as (cyber)bullying, sexting and fake news are now also being discussed more frequently again.
Just in time for the new school year, the EU initiative klicksafe, supported by the state media authorities of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, is therefore launching its new "back2school" information campaign. The campaign is aimed at parents and teachers as well as children and young people. To kick things off, for example, there is a sticker lesson plan from "Handysektor" that can be ordered free of charge from klicksafe. For teachers, klicksafe offers, among other things, teaching materials on Wikipedia and on the topic of sexting, and for parents, information material on the topic of "digital addiction". back2school" materials can also be used very well in English lessons, because, for example, the module "Selfies, sexting, self-expression" is also available in English from klicksafe.
All information of the "back2school" campaign is available online via the klicksafe website(www.klicksafe.de/back2school) as well as on Facebook(www.facebook.de/klicksafe) and Twitter(www.twitter.com/klicksafe).
The "back2school" campaign is campaigning for more online safety in schools throughout Europe. Over 30 institutions in the European Insafe network are actively involved.
