July 22, 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of the right-wing terrorist attacks in Oslo and Utøya. In memory of the 77 victims, the Council of Europe has proclaimed the European Day of Action for Victims of Hate Crime on this date. klicksafe uses this occasion to present offers against hate and incitement on the Internet.

Publishers have until August 9 to apply for the German Children's Software Award TOMMI 2021. For the second time, daycare centers are also being sought that have developed innovative and field-tested concepts for the use of digital media. A children's jury is also being sought to evaluate the submissions.

Dangerous challenges, drastic violence, hate and conspiracy theories: In the Corona crisis, the risks for young people on the web have intensified. Especially when using messengers, social networks and online games, children and young people are confronted with content that endangers or impairs them. If users report violations of youth protection regulations, many service operators do not react adequately. Reliable approaches that protect against interaction risks are also scarce. This is shown by the current annual report of jugendschutz.net.

(Cyber)bullying can become a serious burden for children and young people. Often, those affected do not manage to free themselves from such a psychologically stressful situation without help. Especially in the context of schools, the question therefore often arises as to how professionals can deal with bullying, both preventively and actively, when bullying occurs. The klicksafe teachers' handbook "What to do in case of (cyber)bullying?" offers basic information, suggestions for practice and introduces systemic conflict management. In July, klicksafe, together with the participating authors Thomas Grüner and Jürgen Schmidt, is offering two modules on the topic of bullying as a full-day online training course for the third time.

The second "Media Literacy Week" starts today throughout Rhineland-Palatinate. Until July 11, there will be numerous activities in the large participatory project. klicksafe is participating with web seminars and an Actionbound.

More and more adolescents are experiencing sexual harassment and abuse online. The perpetrators look for their victims in popular social services like TikTok and Snapchat or in video games like Fortnite. The Czech documentary "Caught on the Net" shows how quickly young girls are confronted with cybergrooming online.

The Corona pandemic brought about drastic changes in everyday life that initially turned many people's lives upside down. This was also the case for teachers and students in most German states. In addition to the organizational and technical challenges that homeschooling presents, digital education also requires compliance with various legal requirements.

On June 17, 2021, the web seminar "Do you want to go fact-checking with me?" took place together with the Media Scouts NRW of the Essen Borbeck Comprehensive School. The recording of the web seminar provides insights into the practice of the Medienscouts NRW and shows how the topic of disinformation can be addressed in peer-to-peer work. Suitable klicksafe materials are also presented.

Children and young people are increasingly becoming victims of sexual harassment and violence on the Internet. The perpetrators contact them via social networks, online games and chats. The online counseling platform JUUUPORT is receiving an increasing number of inquiries from young people on this topic. That's why JUUUPORT is publishing a comprehensive online guide on cybergrooming and will launch an accompanying social media campaign on Instagram from June 23 to 25. The aim is to educate people about cybergrooming and thus carry out important prevention work to protect children and young people.

From July 5-11, 2021, the "Week of Media Literacy" will take place in Rhineland-Palatinate. klicksafe is participating with various activities. As of now, interested parties nationwide can register for two web seminars on the topics "Opinion formation in the digital world" and "Disinformation - fake news - conspiracy ideologies".
