Expert talk with Ahmad Mansour (2): What influence does the internet have on extremist developments?
Content
In his work, Ahmad Mansour repeatedly addresses the question of the influence of the internet and social media on extremist developments. It is particularly problematic that it is very easy to spread disinformation online and use algorithms to lure people into bubbles in which extremist content can be disseminated.
As a Palestinian-Arab Israeli,Ahmad Mansour himself experienced a phase of radicalization in his youth and belonged to an Islamist group. After experiencing an attack, he moved to Germany in 2004 and has been involved in the prevention of extremism for many years. In 2017, he founded "MIND Prevention", the Mansour Initiative for the Promotion of Democracy and Prevention of Extremism.
