“Bullied online. Hurt in real life. Together against cyberbullying!” – In cooperation with Aktion Mensch and Nummer gegen Kummer e.V.
Cyberbullying arises from social interactions and is not a “private” matter. What starts small can quickly gain momentum and spread rapidly online, even when bystanders look the other way or do nothing. The consequences for those affected, however, are real and often severe.
Respectful interaction doesn’t happen on its own; it requires mindfulness, empathy, and the courage to stand up for what’s right. In the next klicksafe school lesson, we therefore want to help students recognize the dynamics behind cyberbullying and actively work to break them. Because we can all do something to combat exclusion in our communities—by paying attention, stepping in, and taking a stand.
In an interactive livestream format, we’ll work with students to explore why cyberbullying affects us all and how even small actions can make a difference. The klicksafe school lesson and the accompanying teaching materials are being implemented in cooperation withAktion Mensch and Nummer gegen Kummer. The partnership with Aktion Mensch ensures inclusive participation through sign language and written interpretation, as well as supporting materials in plain language. “Nummer gegen Kummer” contributes its counseling expertise and empowers students to recognize ways to take action and accept support.
The upcoming klicksafe school lesson is aimed at 5th through 8th-grade classes nationwide. Schools from abroad are also welcome to participate (in this case, please note the information below). It will take place on Thursday, September 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and includes a 60-minute livestream. This will be followed by a 30-minute activity session with differentiated tasks designed to reinforce the topics covered.

What is the klicksafe school lesson?
With the klicksafe school hour, we bring current topics relating to the internet, social media and digital safety directly to your school.
Several times a year, school classes from all over Germany can take part via livestream when experts and exciting guests talk to young people about the opportunities and challenges of the digital world.
The klicksafe school lesson is not just about listening: The pupils discuss, ask questions to experts and work out solutions together - accompanied by professional tips and practical methods that they can apply immediately.
Each issue is dedicated to a current, relevant topic. Whether cyberbullying, online hate, fake news or deepfakes and AI: young people are sensitized and empowered to navigate the internet safely, responsibly and confidently.
Registered classes receive free klicksafe material packages that teachers can use to prepare and follow up the lesson in a low-threshold way.
In this way, klicksafe brings media literacy to life - nationwide, digitally and directly in the classroom.

Frequently asked questions about the klicksafe school lesson
To participate in the livestream, a presentation surface (e.g. projector or smartboard) and a stable connection to the internet are required to follow the digital lesson in class. For the interactive surveys, it is recommended that all students have a mobile device. However, this is not a prerequisite for participation in the event.
The klicksafe school lesson takes place in a fixed time slot (usually 10:00-11:30 a.m.) and is broadcast live. Therefore, it is unfortunately not flexible in terms of time.
The klicksafe school lesson takes place as a livestream program that the pupils watch together on a presentation screen in the classroom. In addition to surveys via an online tool, the event includes interactive elements in which the young people become active and work on tasks together. All registered teachers will receive all information and required materials in advance by email.
The klicksafe school lesson is designed to be low-threshold in order to provide young people from grade 5 with practical access to the topic. However, the content and tasks are just as interesting and relevant for older young people, which is why higher grades are also welcome to take part in the event. We recommend participation for grades 5 to 8.
The registered teachers will receive an email with all the information and the necessary worksheets one week before the event. You will also always find the required worksheets for download a few days before the klicksafe school lesson at the top of this website. Please print out the worksheets in advance and either hand them out face down before the start of the event or hand them out at the start of the work phases. The pupils need a pen to work on the tasks.
